How to avoid contamination: Take the bags out of their packaging as soon as possible, and keep them at room temperature, away from direct cold/heat sources. The bags need to breathe and should not be kept where there is no free airflow. Keeping the bag in a closed environment will result in anaerobic contaminants thriving and making the bag mouldy. We recommend that the bags be used as soon as possible to minimise the chances of contamination or within 2 weeks. Work in front of a flow hood or a still air box using a completely sterile workspace. Mix at least 15% grain spawn or higher of your desired species and mix it thoroughly in the bag and let it colonise. Incubate at 24°C in a dark spot and keep all the bags at a distance from each other to avoid excess heat, which leads to contamination. A temperature lower than 24°C makes mycelium grow slowly, which could give a chance to competing organisms to flourish. Temperature above 24°C favours competing for organisms than fungi which increases likely hood of contamination.
Keep the bag again for a week in a dry and dark spot at 24-25°c.
Ready to fruit as per your mushroom specie- Some are top fruiting, and others are side fruiting.
The recommended time frame for use once received max 2 weeks.
